The Joint Valletta Action Plan (JVAP) was adopted at the Valletta Summit on Migration in 2015 by the partners of the Rabat Process and the Khartoum Process. This infographic highlights the progress that has since been achieved by the involved stakeholders. The infographic provides up-to-date insights into the JVAP Database, which contains information about projects and policies in Africa and Europe, addressing the five thematic domains of the JVAP.

JVAP implementation and follow-up

Since the Valletta Summit in 2015, partner countries and organisations of the Rabat Process and Khartoum Process have funded projects and introduced policies relevant to the JVAP. In order to keep track of these initiatives, the Rabat Process and Khartoum Process have been mandated to follow-up on the implementation process. To this end, the JVAP Database has been set up. The JVAP Database was officially launched during the Joint Senior Officials Meeting in Luxor, Egypt on November 9th, 2017.

A database to capture projects and policies

The JVAP Database currently contains information about over 1252 initiatives published after verification by the database administrator. Because the JVAP follow-up is an ongoing process, these figures evolve continuously. The infographic captures the status based on information entered by the JVAP partners until mid-2018 and information imported from the database of the European Union Emergency Trust Fund for stability and addressing root causes of irregular migration and displaced persons in Africa (EUTF for Africa). The initiatives presented are funded by the JVAP partners, namely African countries, African organisations, European Union institutions, European countries and international organisations.
